Remove Saturn Ion Seats

The Ion is the sporty member of the Saturn borderline, with lots of performance-enhancing features. It's a general vehivle for customizers, and not all of them prefer the factory seats. If you want to remove the factory seats in your Ion to either run stereo cables, install an amplifier or to replace them with sportier models, it can be done at home with basic tools.

Instructions

1. Set the seat back on the floor and tilt the backrest in so that the seat is in a wedge shape. Lift it out of the vehicle with one hand on the back of the seat and one on the base, then lift, using your legs, to get it out of the vehicle.4. Repeat this process with the remaining seat if necessary.

Unbolt the seat from the floor using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Tilt the seat forward and unclip the harness from the bottom of the seat, using your hands, so that the seat is completely freed from the vehicle.

3. Open the doors and locate the bolts on the bottom of the seats that secure them in place. There are four per seat, and some are a bit difficult to see, but if you slide the seat forward or backward on the tracks you can find them all.2.
