Take Away The Ignition Turn On A 1974 Blazer

The 1974 Chevrolet Blazer was equipped with a one-piece ignition switch and lock cylinder meeting. The Blazer's ignition switch was installed on the side of the steering column rather than into the face of the dashboard as with some other vehicles. Removing the ignition switch is all the more a relatively straightforward gig, however the steering wheel must head be removed.


Instructions


1. Loosen the clamp on the battery cusp of the balky battery cable with a wrench and lift the cable off of the battery.


2. Pry the horn Press-stud off of the centre of the steering spin with a flathead screwdriver to disclose the steering revolve's retaining follower.


3. Ownership the steering shove stationary and remove the steering trundle's retaining fan with a wrench to disclose three nuts that surround the receiving Mug.


4. Remove the receiving Mug's three securing nuts with a wrench.


5. Lift the receiving Mug gone of the steering border, followed by the immense spring remain the cup.


6. Use a steering wheel puller tool to disconnect the steering wheel from the steering column.


Insert the tip of a small flathead screwdriver into the vertical slot just to the right of the threaded rod in the center of the steering column. This is the same threaded rod from which the steering wheel's retaining nut was removed. Press downward on the spring latch located on the end of the ignition switch, then pull the switch out of the steering column.


7. Rotate the ignition switch with the key to the "RUN" position.8.
