4. Loosen the timing belt tensioner and mounting bolts but do not remove them. Move the tensioner away from the belt and then tighten the mounting bolts to hold the tensioner in place.


5. Slide the timing belt off and remove it from the engine. It should easily slide off after the tensioner is loosened.


6. Replace the timing belt with a new one and reverse the removal steps. Read the engine manual to know how hard to torque the tensioner bolts and other bolts when replacing parts.
