Switch The Starter On The 1991 Jetta

The starter on a 1991 Jetta converts the voltage from the battery into the authority needed to turn your vehicle on. Whether the starter is poor, you won't be able gratify your vehicle to turn over and bow. The starter is a relatively manifest chunk to alter on a 1991 Jetta, and most DIY mechanics should be able to arrange this in a hardly any hours with a uncommon basic tools. Instructions


1. Stadium the vehicle on a calm surface and engage the parking brake. Hoist the hood and prop it unfastened.


2. Disconnect the dissension cable from the battery to eliminate the risk of a short while replacing the starter motor assembly. The negative terminal is labeled with a minus sign on the battery.


3. Lift the front end of the vehicle and place jack stands where they can safely support the Jetta. Lower the vehicle until the jack stands are securely supporting the vehicle's weight.


Remove the jack stands and lower the vehicle. Reconnect the negative battery cable, close the hood and clean up.


5. Remove the starter mounting bolts and remove the old starter from the vehicle.


6. Position the new starter assembly and install the mounting bolts. Reconnect the four wires.


7. Raise your vehicle with your jack until the vehicle is clear of the jack stands.4. Label the four wires on the starter motor assembly and remove them. Pull carefully on the end connectors to remove the two small wires. Remove the securing nuts to disconnect the two larger wires.
