Use A Rear Chair Dvd Entertainment System Inside A Tribeca

Installing a DVD player in a Tribeca for the passengers in the rear seats to flip over is an easier method than it sounds. The leading preparation for this project is removing the overhead dome light. This gives you both the positioning you need for the DVD player and the wires to power the unit. Having a DVD player makes road trips more fun for your backseat passengers.

Instructions

Tuck the wires into the ceiling hole.2. Lift the bracket up so it lies flat against the ceiling covering the hole. Cut and remove the headliner around the bracket. When the dome light is loose enough to grab, remove it with your hands. Pull the wire harness from the connector in the back of the dome light. The wire harness is a cluster of several wires that connect to a rectangular plug.1. Fit the head of the flat-head screwdriver between the ceiling and the dome light. Twist the head to create space and loosen the dome light.

The headliner is the thin piece of material that covers the ceiling of the car. Remove the bracket from its place, then pull down the wires that you tucked into ceiling hole and thread the wires through the bracket.

3. Position the bracket back on the ceiling over the naked part where the headliner has been removed. Use a drill with a 10-24 machine tap drill bit to drill four holes--one in each corner of the bracket and continue drilling into the ceiling. The 10-24 machine tap bit is a standard size that is safe for drilling into the ceiling of the car without drilling to deep, but you should still pay attention and apply caution when drilling the hole.

4. Insert the mounting screws into the drill holes and tighten with a Phillips screwdriver. Plug the wire harness into the power port of the DVD player and tuck the wires back into the bracket. Slide the DVD player onto the bracket until it locks firmly into place.
