Install Brakes On The 2003 Dodge Ram

9. Replace the calipers onto the respective caliper brackets and screw in the caliper slide pins. Tighten the pins on each caliper with the 13 mm wrench. Place the front wheels back onto the Ram's wheel bolts and screw on the lug nuts by hand. Lift the front of the truck with the jack and remove the jack stands. Lower the front tires to the ground and tighten the lug nuts with the lug wrench.


10. Place the jack under the frame in the rear of the truck. Lift the back tires from the ground and remove the rear wheels. Replace the brakes as described in steps 3 through 9. Move to the driver's seat.


11. Start the engine and press the brake pedal slowly to the floor. Hold the pedal in the depressed position for three seconds before repeating. The pedal will stiffen with each depression until the response is normal, signifying that the caliper pistons have been properly reset. Move to the engine compartment.


12. Remove the master cylinder cap and place a funnel into the reservoir. Fill the container with brake fluid as necessary. Remove the funnel and replace the cap. Close the hood.
