The 1974 Chevrolet Blazer was equipped with a one-piece ignition switch and lock cylinder meeting. The Blazer's ignition switch was installed on the side of the steering column rather than into the face of the dashboard as with some other vehicles. Removing the ignition switch is all the more a relatively straightforward gig, however the steering wheel must head be removed.
Instructions
1. Loosen the clamp on the battery cusp of the balky battery cable with a wrench and lift the cable off of the battery.
2. Pry the horn Press-stud off of the centre of the steering spin with a flathead screwdriver to disclose the steering revolve's retaining follower.

Insert the tip of a small flathead screwdriver into the vertical slot just to the right of the threaded rod in the center of the steering column. Press downward on the spring latch located on the end of the ignition switch, then pull the switch out of the steering column.
