Fuel performance can be improved with additives.


Fuel additives are substances that you add to the Gauze vat of your motorcar in form to edit the performance of the engine. There are indefinite colorful types of fuel additives. They handle contrastive mechanisms to accomplish the twin consummation, which is to emend the size of compression achieved in the engine.


Oxygenates


Oxygenates are a fuel additive that is infused with O2. The Conclusion of oxygenating fuel is that emissions are reduced while the octane assessing of the fuel is increased. This provides higher quality and cleaner combustion and finer compression in the engine.


There are two meaningful categories of oxygenate fuel additives. These are ether-based oxygenates and alcohol-based additives. There are several types of ethers and alcohols that are used to create these types of fuel additives.


Antioxidants


Corrosion is a great enemy of any engine. As it builds up, fuel delivery is impeded and efficiency is lowered as the engine no longer functions with the precision with that it was designed to. There are fuel additives that are designed to inhibit corrosion from taking place in the engine that will keep the engine functioning well with proper compression throughout its lifespan. These are PDA, or phenylenediamines, and hindered phenols.


Antiknock Agents


Knocking sounds in engines are created when the air and gas mix too early and cause an early ignition of the fuel. The early burn is what causes the "knock" sound. Antiknock agents are meant to correct this problem by improving the way that the air and the gasoline mix together. These agents are designed to increase the octane rating of the fuel which makes it burn better and improves compression in the engine.


Corrosion Inhibitors


Antioxidant fuel additives are used as stabilizers. They are supposed to prevent oxidation from occurring. They do this by donating hydrogen atoms that stop the oxidation process. There are two different categories of antioxidants that are used in gasoline. Phenylenediamine, hexamine and sodium nitrate are corrosion inhibitors.
