The oil gasket surrounds the outside edge of the oil pan. The gasket ensures that oil doesn't leak from the pan. When the gasket isn't properly sealed, it can't perform its business. To seal the gasket licence, it is chief to bleed the oil pan and attach a fresh gasket. To ice the gasket is sealed securely, another round of sealant can be applied to the outside edge of the oil pan itself.
Instructions
1. Hoist the motorcar up on a team of jack stands to access the engine extra easily. Slide under the van and fix the oil pan. This is a blimp, metal receptacle in the centre of the engine. Put a class pan under the oil pan.
2. Remove all on the other hand one of the bolts surrounding the empty pan with a socket wrench. The size of the socket wrench varies depending on the make and model of the car. Let the fluid drain into the collection pan. Open the hood and pull out the oil dipstick. Place a funnel into the tube. Pour in the proper amount of oil indicated in the owner's manual.
4. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry up the sides of the gasket. Place a line of sealant in the gasket ridge. Press the new gasket onto the pan. Line up the holes on the gasket and the pan to make sure it is in the proper position. Wait 30 minutes for the sealant to cure.
5. Replace the pan on the bottom of the engine. Line the outside of the pan with sealant and leave it to dry for 30 minutes. Lower the car from the jack stands.
6. When it's finished, remove the final bolt and pull out the oil pan.3. Rinse out the pan and bolts with soap and water. Dry them completely with a towel.
