The Plymouth De Luxe P8 sedan was introduced in 1939. It was the highest priced and most luxurious vehicle in the Plymouth wrinkle. Plymouth sedans sat on a 114-inch wheelbase, apart from for the convertibles. These vehicles were three inches longer.

The De Luxe P8 ranged in price from $725 for the business coupe to $1,150 for the convertible sedan.The De Luxe P8 and the Plan Monarch P7 were the two basic sedan models specious in 1939. The De Luxe came as a two- or four-door sedan or as a touring sedan. The Road King came as either a business sedan or a touring sedan. Plymouth only made the four-door De Luxe convertible sedan in 1939.All Plymouth sedans in 1939 had a six-cylinder "L-head" engine; this 201-cubic-inch inline block engine produced 82 horsepower. It used a single-barrel carburettor. Plymouth mounted the gear shift for the three-speed transmission on the steering border for the antecedent date in 1939.
Types
The basic four-door sedan sold for $1,005. The Road King's least expensive model was the business sedan at $645. Prices escalated to $740 for the touring sedan.
