Tips About Rebuilding Leather Child Car Seats

Leather seats are considered a luxury fact in cars, however with date they can be remodelled a miniature shabby. Clean it first

Leather repair kit

Use a leather repair kit to patch holes and tears in your seats. Apply a patch and paste to the seat, then add a color mixture, and finally heat the combination (or wipe it down with an alcohol pad) to seal the hole. Allow the surface to set completely before you go the next step.


Spray a soft cloth or sponge with a pH-balanced kid cleaner (clock "Money" for an action) and rub it into the seats. The product should foam up as it removes the dirt from the surface and crevices of the seat. Rinse the seat with a new sponge soaked in pleasant soak and then dry it thoroughly with a cotton towel.


The color may be hard to match exactly, but many of these repair kits create a near seamless result (see "Resources" for an example).


Conditioning


Once imperfections are patched, condition the leather seats to soften the leather and make it stronger. Pour some conditioner on a cotton cloth and rub it into the seats thoroughly. Let it sit for 20 minutes so that the conditioner can absorb into the leather, and then remove the excess with a fresh, dry cotton towel.


Maintenance


Clean your leather seats at least twice a year, and condition them at least once every three months to keep them in good condition. UV rays are a major cause of damage to leather car seats, so keep the car in a garage or otherwise out of the sun or use seat covers.
