In some cases, the door panel can be manually turned to remove the panel from the cup of the door handle without disengaging the door handle assembly at all. Inspect the door handle and rod before tugging aggressively to remove the door panel so you don't incur damage to the assembly.
11. Remove the door panel. Many car door frames have a plastic covering to protect the internal contents of the door frame. This plastic dust covering is usually affixed to the door by a sticky substance that can be easily peeled away and reattached when ready.
