Obtain A Delaware Driving License

Delaware requires all drivers to annex a Delaware driving licence within 60 days of fitting a limited. They are located in Wilmington, Dover, New Castle and Georgetown. You will need to have two proofs of Delaware residency (such as utility bills) and proof of your Social Security Number. If you don't have a current driver's license you will also need to bring your certified birth certificate to prove your name and birth date.

Instructions

1. Meet all eligibility requirements for a driving license. You will need to be at least 18 years of age, a Delaware resident and have held a driver's license previously to receive a driving license. Drivers between the ages of 16 and 18 or new permit applicants must first obtain a learner's permit.

2. Review the Delaware Driver's Manual. The manual can either be downloaded from the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles website or picked up from one of their locations.

3. Apply in person at one of the Division of Motor Vehicles offices. Non-residents of Delaware and members of the U.S. Armed Services, who clutch authentic Chauffeur's licenses from their society or community of house, are not required to fetch a Delaware driving license. The state of Delaware takes driving safety seriously. They require all first-time license applicants to obtain a learner's permit, and first-time applicants under 18 to fulfill stringent learner's permit requirements and restrictions.

4. Pass an eye screening. You will need to demonstrate eyesight of at least 20/40 with or without corrective lenses. If your eyesight is between 20/40 and 20/50, you can be granted permission to drive during daylight hours only.

5. Take and pass the written and road examinations. Both written and road examinations are required, but can be waived for those who are transferring a license from another state. Applicants who are currently licensed by a foreign country will need to pass both examinations (except if they are licensed in Germany).
