Locate The Overflow Bolt On The 2001 Chevrolet Malibu Transmission

The overflow gap on a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu transmission is designed to denote when the transmission fluid flush is all-inclusive. Shift the Malibu's transmission into park and turn off the engine. Set the emergency brake.2. Raise the front of the vehicle using an automotive jack and support it with jack stands.



The transmission on a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu does not encompass a dipstick, and the fluid consistent must be checked by removing the overflow bolt from the overflow gap and adding fluid to the fill gap until it begins to spill absent of the overflow hole. The overflow hole and overflow bolt are located on the passenger side of the transmission housing, next to the axle shaft hole.

Chock the rear wheels.


3. Crawl underneath the vehicle and shine a work light on the right side of the transmission.


4. Look to the left of the passenger side axle-shaft hole. The overflow bolt is screwed into the overflow hole, approximately two inches to the left of the axle-shaft hole.
