6. Install the bolt through the hole on the non-battery terminal end of the new negative battery cable.


7. Tighten the bolt and cable in the new grounding hole. Make sure not to over-tighten the bolt and damage the threads. Thread locker can be used to ensure the bolt will not loosen from vibration.


8. Paint the cable end, bolt and bare metal around with the spray paint. This will help ensure the metal does not rust and weatherproof the new connection.


9. Attach the new cable to the battery.
