Homemade Three Wheel Vehicle

Homemade Three Circle Vehivle

The frame is 10 feet long by 42 inches wide. The two middle two-by-six studs are bonded side-by-side to each other. They will separate the two passengers. Before the vinyl is applied to the bottom of the car, 3-inch wide strips of 16-gauge galvanized steel strap should be screwed through the OSB into the 2-by-6s at 1-foot intervals. This design includes joystick steering with a simple adjustable throttle.

Drive Train

Use a single-lever adjustable soft-stop hydraulic valve to modulate both motors. The motors will self-arbitrate differential functions during turns. Rear suspension should be dual trailing arm with coil springs and a single automotive gas shock in the center of the axle line. Front suspension should locate a single short coil spring right on the fork pivot shaft between the fork and the frame with two UHMW thrust washers alternating with three steel washers on the pivot.

Major Components

Major drive components include the engine, belt-driven pump, oil reservoir, a hydraulic drive motor at each rear wheel, three 215/60-8 high-speed four-bolt trailer tires on wheels, and two keyed four-bolt flanges to mount them to the rear wheel motors. The front wheel axle is 1-inch diameter by 14 inches wide with its own 4-bolt flange. The front wheel is a turning-fork design with a single mini-disc brake. The front cowl is made from 19/32-inch thick OSB sheathing available in 4-foot by 8-foot sheets. It is shaped like the front of a hydroplane by cutting the OSB into tapered slats and fastening onto half-decagon-shaped ribs with a flat segment at the top. Unlike the ribbed bottom, the gray vinyl flooring is installed smooth side out on the top.

Frame

Persons fascinated by twists in transportation Testament effect nearly anything to receive a guide in something virgin. A homemade three-wheel machine is a blameless exemplification of the Category of creativity that turns heads at community vehivle shows and fairs. The front speck is reminiscent of a jet. Very growth functional, it is further versatile--it can easily be converted in winter to a two-seat energy toboggan with the child's play Appendix of a snowboard under the front wheel.

Functional Strategy

This two-seat small car takes advantage of a low center of gravity to add stability to the basic three-wheel design. The three-wheel car also employs a single-pump-two motor hydrostatic drive powered by a rear-mounted 6 1/2 horsepower four-stroke gasoline engine. It easily climbs hills and can attain approximately 26 miles per hour. The bottom consists of four treated 2-inch by 6-inch wood studs on edge, the two middle ones being bonded together and sheathed with a 19/32-inch thick OSB 4-foot by 8-foot sheet. The bottom is covered, ribbed vinyl plastic garage floor covering. The top body, cowl and windshield are a front-hinged one-piece clamshell design that tilts forward 90 degrees for easy seating access. Marine-grade bucket seats with arms provide comfort and stability. The car includes a full roll bar to protect passengers as well as to provide a stop for the convertible bimini top.

Testing

This car takes a little practice because of its responsiveness. Rear braking is accomplished by simply releasing the spring-loaded hydrostatic control handle a little at a time. Letting it snap shut will lock both rear wheels tight, which forms a parking brake function. The homemade three-wheel car will attract a lot of attention with its futuristic look.
